Important // When Sysco Is Out Of Stock Of Something You Need

If Sysco is ever out of stock on an item you need, please still add it to your order. There are 2 very important reasons to do this.


  1. If there is a Foxtail-approved backup: This will trigger a backup option to be subbed if that item has a Foxtail-approved backup. About 30% of items in Sysco have an approved backup. You will know this by looking at the weekly OOS and At Risk post in the partner portal. In the case below with TopoChico, Pellegrino is the approved option that will be subbed ONLY if you click 'Add To Cart.'

  2. If there IS NOT a Foxtail-approved backup: Even if the item shows as out of stock, adding the item signals to Sysco that there is a demand. Without that signal, their system assumes we don’t need it, and restocking gets delayed. If TopoChico didn't have a backup option, most people don't do this step.


Please make sure everyone placing orders at your location follows this best practice. It drastically helps improve availability over time. In this example, you can see that TopoChico is out of stock at Sysco Central Florida. If you need this item, click 'Add To Cart,' whether there is a backup or not.

02/03/26 - ORLANDO - Delivery Fee On Recent Invoice

You may have noticed a $75 delivery fee on last week’s invoice for the chocolate-covered strawberry cake pops. This charge was added in error by Sysco due to an automated minimum-order threshold and should not have applied. Sysco is in the process of issuing credits to all affected accounts.

02/04/26 - Ed Don Issuing Credits For Tax Charged

Many accounts have been charged erroneously for tax on tax-exempt items at Ed Don. Their tax department has started issuing credits for wrongful taxes accepted, some going back to November. Be on the lookout for an email and/or notification when you log into don.com. Take this opportunity to be sure that your tax-exempt forms are updated and submitted to Ed Don.
